HubSpot launches investigation into customer account hacks

Marketing and sales software giant HubSpot confirmed on Friday that it is currently investigating a cybersecurity incident.

Rumors of a potential cyberattack targeting HubSpot customers began surfacing on social media. Alyssa Robinson, Chief Information Security Officer at HubSpot, stated that the company has identified a security incident involving bad actors attempting to gain unauthorized access to a limited number of customer accounts.

Robinson mentioned that HubSpot has initiated incident response procedures and has been reaching out to affected customers since June 22 to revoke unauthorized access and safeguard customer data.

When questioned by TechCrunch, the company did not disclose if they had received any communication from the malicious actors.

HubSpot is a U.S.-based company known for CRM and marketing automation software, with a market cap of nearly $30 billion. The extent of the incident and the number of affected customers remain unclear.

With over 216,000 corporate clients, HubSpot's notable customers include Discord, Eventbrite, and Talkspace.
